Youth Cricket at Pinner: Building Tomorrow's Players

Youth cricket is the foundation of our club. We're committed to developing young players, teaching them skills, building confidence, and fostering a love for the game that lasts a lifetime.
Age Groups and Coaching
We run programmes for children from Under 7 through to Under 19. Each age group has dedicated coaches with experience working with young people. Training sessions focus on age-appropriate skills development, fitness, and enjoyment. We believe that having fun is crucial—children who enjoy cricket are more likely to continue playing.
Progressive Development
Our coaching follows a clear progression. Younger children learn basic skills: how to hold a bat, throw correctly, and understand the rules. As they progress, we introduce more complex techniques, tactical awareness, and competitive match play. By the time they reach Under 15 and above, many players are competing at representative level.
Safety and Welfare
Child safety is paramount. All our coaches are trained in safeguarding and first aid. We ensure appropriate supervision, use proper protective equipment, and maintain strict child protection policies. Parents can be confident their children are in safe hands.
Competitive Opportunities
We enter youth teams in local league competitions and friendly matches. These provide valuable match experience and help young players understand competitive cricket. We also participate in tournaments throughout the season, giving juniors exposure to different teams and playing styles.
Pathways to Senior Cricket
Our youth programme creates a clear pathway to adult cricket. Many of our current senior players started in our junior section. We maintain strong relationships with our young players, encouraging them to progress naturally as they age and improve.
Getting Your Child Started
If your child is interested in cricket, contact us about joining our youth programme. We welcome complete beginners and experienced young players alike. The investment in youth cricket pays dividends—for the club, for the sport, and most importantly, for the young people themselves.
